Report Summary

These reports provide summaries of current worldwide research, technology developments in diversified segments for food and industrial applications of carbohydrates including chitosan and other derivatives along with latest development in bioprocessing, bioplastics, and other developments. The focus is also on several global sustainable developments. The reports offer excellent is a tool & resource that can enhance the literature research, reading, thought process along with our insights for today’s overloaded professionals in technical, commercial and support management functions. This is our 1st series of reports in the Frontiers in Carbohydrates; we plan to issue series of similar reports each year to proactively offer areas of targeted research in selected areas. We will evolve/improve these reports as we move forward depending on the feedback of our customers that can serve changing needs of food and industrial applications of carbohydrates worldwide. This presents our extensive research with comprehensive experience and insights of our associates and me who have spent many years in the carbohydrates research, processing and marketing. Besides, we stay on the cutting edge by our continuous scan of carbohydrates research and developments worldwide.          

1. Frontiers in Carbohydrates Developments: Report 1; Research, Technologies - Selected Starch Derivatives and Hydrocolloids Jan. 2011. Briefly; this report includes ongoing research on: Modified Starches, Starch Modification-Biotechnology, Physically Modified Starches, Enzyme Modified Starches, Starch in textures, gels and other functional properties and Starch in Gluten free products. The report also has research summaries on Maltodextrins, Dextrins (Pyrodextrins) and Hydrocolloids & Gums.                  
2. Frontiers Carbohydrates Developments: Report 2; Research Technologies - Food, Health, Nutrition and Functional carbohydrates. Briefly; this report includes: Functional cereals and ancient grains, dietary fibers – insoluble and soluble, resistant starches and slowly digestible starches, non digestible and slowly digestible oligosaccharides, chitosan and carbohydrates in food textures.
