Report Summary

China fungicide industry experienced a much difficult year in 2010. During this period, frequent natural calamity, nationwide inflation and government's strict energy saving and pollutant reduction policy all largely restricted the quick development for China fungicide industry. For the manufacturers, most Chinese pesticide enterprises witnessed a bad financial situation this year.

According to CCM's statistics about the leading listed agrochemical enterprises, about 70% of them suffered losses in the first three quarters and the situation of the rest of the year are not expected well. However, Chinese fungicide industry still enjoyed an increase in output and production value this year, mainly thanks to the recovering demand for fungicides in the oversea market. It is worth noting that the rising prices of raw materials, labor cost, etc. in fungicide industry also increased the production cost, reducing the producers' profit. In spite of this not-so-good situation, many agrochemical enterprises still got listed this year to raise fund for a quick development. This is encouraged by the government's policy of making the leading enterprises much bigger and stronger, which will undoubtedly quicken the pesticide industry integration. As inflation is expected to continue in China in the next year, prices of most Chinese fungicides are expected to see increase.
