CCM has reviewed China’s insecticide market situation in 2010, including production, demand, export and import, policy, etc. Owing to impact of extreme climate and slack market demand, China’s insecticide market suffers depression in 2010. However, with gradual recovery of global economy, export of China’s insecticide has achieved rise in both volume and value in 2010.
Yet, domestic insecticide players’ performance seems to leave much to be desired, while that of most foreign listed pesticide companies in Q3 is quite well, some even staging a swift growth. Jiangsu Lanfeng Biochemical Co., Ltd. successfully launched domestic initial public offerings. Nanjing Redsun Co., Ltd. plans to expand capacity of chlorpyrifos technical production lines to 40,000t/a in 2011.
Spinosad has become a hot product to be developed in China. Acephate is seeking an opportunity for rapid development in China since 2008. Nitenpyram also sees fast growth in capacity. However, if lack of proper management it will likely face capacity surplus.
Besides, owing to the energy conservation and emission reduction policy stipulated in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, most raw materials have been witnessed price rise in the latter half of this year, boosting prices of almost all insecticides. Still, with implementation of The Twelve Five-Year Plan, prices of insecticide technical is likely continue their uptrend in 2011.
During 2010 and beyond, we will cover a wide variety of issues related to insecticide market in China, including company dynamics, crop insect pests, supply and demand, price monitoring, related policies/ registration, raw materials/ intermediates, expiring patent, etc.
