In July 2011, two new policies released by China government have impacted domestic pesticide industry, namely the draft for seeking opinions on Regulations on Pesticide Management and 12th Five-Year Plan for Pesticide Industry which have pointed out the development and management directions of domestic pesticide industry in the future.

Cancelling the temporary registration of pesticides and setting up license system of pesticide business are the most shocking items in the draft for domestic pesticide players because the cost of pesticide registration and pesticide dealing will be largely increased. That also means small pesticide players in China may face great challenges in future company operation which would provide good chances for the integration of domestic pesticide industry.

As for 12th Five-Year Plan for Pesticide Industry, it is actually considered to be the implementation regulation of Pesticide Industry Policy and is almost totally inherited from the latter one. It is mainly focusing on to better increase pesticide industry concentration and speed up the industry integration which will benefit domestic leading pesticide enterprises in the long run.
