Paraguay Market Research

Paraguay, officially the Republic of Paraguay, is a landlocked country in South America. It is bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Brazil to the east and northeast, and Bolivia to the northwest. Paraguay lies on both banks of the Paraguay River, which runs through the center of the country from north to south. Due to its central location in South America, it is sometimes referred to as Corazón de América, or the Heart of America. Some of its major industries include, sugar, cement, textiles, beverages, wood products, steel, metallurgic and electric power. Some of the major markets include Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Russia and the US.

After estimated growth of 8% in 2010 real GDP is expected to decelerate to 4.3% in 2011 owing to an easing of global growth, before picking up again in 2012, when GDP is expected to grow again by 4.8%.
